HERE'S HOW you can help to make a difference in the life of a newly arrived family

Form a Welcome Group

Welcome Groups are the cornerstone of Welcome Collective. Each Welcome Group is paired with a newcomer family to help them gather the essential items that they need for their new home.

You can form a Welcome Group with your family, a few friends, your colleagues, or even on your own. Welcome Groups reach out into their community to find secondhand items that  asylum seekers need.

Welcome Collective can provide transport for larger items found by the Welcome Groups, and can share valuable information about resources that will be of great help to the newly arrived families. Together, we make a huge impact on the lives of newcomers by ensuring that they can safely sleep, eat, and settle into their new homes.

help Move Items

Every week we send out trucks to pick up large donated items (beds, tables, small sofas) from all over the city and deliver them to families in need. By volunteering as a driver or helper on the truck, you have the rewarding experience of meeting the families and seeing the high impact that these donations have on their lives.

If you are comfortable driving a cube van, we would love to hear from you! Drivers also  help with loading and unloading items with the help of a second volunteer.

If you are strong and can move furniture, then you can volunteer as a helper and ride alongside the driver in the truck.

If you want to  contribute your muscles and your time, let us know!

Smaller Item Delivery

Welcome groups sometimes need help getting smaller items to newcomer families. If you have access to a car and would like to pick-up and deliver smaller items to families, please contact us!
