+ Ridwan Ali Abdi

Ridwan is a passionate volunteer focused on social progress. He received his bachelors of Engineering Petroleum from China University of Petroleum, where he was a member of the China Registered Volunteers and contributed to different causes including Poverty Alleviation and Ecological Construction. Ridwan currently volunteers with various nonprofit organizations in Montreal, including CLAM, Afrique au feminin, and of course, Welcome Collective, to help identify affordable and suitable homes for new refugee claimants in Montreal.

+ Maxime Gobeil

Maxime is a Chartered Professional Accountant specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He contributes his financial experience to ensure that Welcome Collective is able to sustain its operations and keep helping refugee claimants for years to come.

+ Tom Liacas

Tom is a Senior Strategist at NetChange Consulting, where he helps nonprofit advocacy organizations engage and mobilize their supporters. Drawing on the strategies he has developed for other groups, he hopes to help Welcome Collective make full use of the passion and energy of its volunteers towards supporting more asylum seekers.

+ Fabienne Siche

Fabienne is a social worker, has worked in intercultural studies, and has traveled and lived in different countries. She is currently working with refugee claimants and wishes to contribute to their integration by being involved as well with the Welcome Collective.

+ Claire Trottier

Claire is an Academic Associate at McGill University, where she received her PhD. She serves on the board of the McGill University Health Centre Foundation and the Trottier Family Foundation, and volunteers as a grassroots organizer to foster inclusion and intercultural understanding in her neighbourhood.

+ Rebecca Wolfe

Rebecca is one of the founders and owners of Mandy’s Restaurants based in Montreal. She enjoys creating design content for branding and interiors. She’s busy raising her two kids, making salads and helping newcomers settle into Montreal.


+ Philippe Bélanger

Philippe is a partner at McCarthy Tétrault where he practices restructuring law and commercial litigation. He hopes to make a significant contribution to Welcome Collective by reaching out to the legal community to raise awareness to the plight of asylum seekers coming to Montréal.

+ Valérie Gobeil

Valérie works in a tech company in Montreal, where she is responsible for learning and development. She has a passion for putting human interactions at the center of her work to foster the development and potential of individuals and teams. She is particularly interested in launching and growing projects which seek to break down barriers and have concrete social impact, such as Welcome Collective.

+ Niamh Leonard

With experience in nonprofits and philanthropy, Niamh is passionate about the potential for good governance, evidenced-based legal systems, and social finance to foster the enabling conditions for social change. With a background in economics, psychology and finance, Niamh is now pursuing a law degree at McGill University. She serves on the board of Apathy is Boring and is now eager to contribute to welcoming refugee claimants to Montreal as a board member of the Welcome Collective.

+ Sarah Stapleton

Sarah Stapleton graduated in marketing from HEC Montréal. She works in international business development and sales at a medical company. She is passionate about travelling and helping others and has been a committed Welcome Collective volunteer since its early days.

+ Mandy Wolfe

Mandy is one of the founders and owners of Mandy's Restaurants based in Montreal. She splits her time between creating recipes, raising her kids and volunteering with Welcome Collective.
