I’ve never seen that kind of love before – people helping me without even knowing me. My problems became their problems. Welcome Collective stood by me and made sure I got all the help I needed.
— Amaka, a refugee claimant from Nigeria

Welcome Collective is a lifeline for refugee claimant families in Quebec.

In just eight years, over 30,000 refugee claimants have received support from our team, more than half of them children. Today, Welcome Collective shines as the only community organization in Canada that combines a furniture bank with specialized social services for refugee claimant families.

What many people don’t know is that Welcome Collective receives almost no government funding. Our mission is powered by Montrealers like you – 95% of our budget comes from private donations and grants.

That means we need your support to keep Welcome Collective going. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by December 31st, 2025.

Help offer a warmer welcome – donate today.

From our beginnings as a grassroots community response to the significant increase of refugee claimants arriving in Montreal in the fall of 2017, Welcome Collective has grown into a thriving community organization providing essential material and psychosocial support to refugee claimants who arrive in Montreal seeking safety and security.

We collect furniture and household items from donors across Montreal and deliver apartment kits to the homes of newly arrived refugee claimant families. We provide follow-up psychosocial support and resource orientation, helping families to meet their basic needs so that they can focus on settling into their new country and building a positive future.

Welcome Collective’s work goes beyond immediate assistance to newcomers. Alongside our material and psychosocial support services, Welcome Collective uses its voice to advocate for a world of fair, inclusive and caring societies, where where people can live free from the legacies of colonialism, exploitation, and inequality in all forms.
